UNIVERSITY MEDEVAC
Residents of Middlebrick Village are fortunate to have the medevac base of University 1 & 2 located at the small township airport.
Two state-of-the-art medical aircraft are based here at all times, ready to lift off and respond to emergencies within a 200 mile radius. The flight crew of each helicopter resides on location for the entire 24 hours of their shift right behind they hangar their aircraft are kept in. The flight crew is highly trained and ready at a moments notice.
Due to the close proximity of the MedEvac aircraft to it's residents, the Fire & EMS services will often renedvouz at the airport to transfer the patient rather than having to setup an alternate landing zone and wait for the helicopter to arrive, this saves precious time when it is needed most.
The funding and organization of this aircraft is made possible through the direction of the University Hospitals system who has made the push to bring an aeromedical service to the area. University Hospitals provides the medical direction, supplies, training and program oversight to ensure the crew as well as relations with the public and local rescue services is top notch. The aircraft is contracted and provided through Air Methods who also performs all updates, maintenance and ensures only the best and most qualified pilots are hired and trained through their training programs. The medical crew is paid for and provided through the Emergency Bricks Ambulance Network staffing the aircraft with 1 Flight Paramedic and 1 Flight Paramedic/RN at all times.
