EMBRICK COUNTY PARK RANGERS
Embrick County Park District's Rangers are tasked with protecting the county's parks and wildland areas ensuring they are safe for both visitors and the wildlife that reside within the parks borders. Rangers are certified law enforcement officers with the same authorities as any other police agency, with a unique focus.
Responsibilities include traffic enforcement within and directly adjacent to park lands, protecting both park visitors and animals, public education and promotion of appropriate use of park resources, enforcement of park rules as mandated by state and federal laws, deterring unlawful hunting or poaching of wildlife, and assisting neighboring law enforcement agencies in times of need. The Park District currently employs a total of 8 Rangers including the Chief Ranger. At minimum 3 Rangers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for all of the county's parks. All communications are handled via the ECSO Dispatch/ Comms. Center. |
